"We're just here to express some concerns and really love for these people, we're just concerned about the children and being raised in this type of."Ĭonjure Shop owner, Nicole McDermott says she's hosted this Drag Queen Story Hour and doesn't have any plans to stop. "I don't like to see young children being influenced before they can make an informed decision on what lifestyle they want," says Frenco.įrenco says while the story hour may continue, her beliefs will not change. One protestor, Mary Jo Frenco, says she agrees people should be able to do what they want but should let their children decide for themselves. Yuka says she knows this lifestyle isn't for everyone but believes without pushing these boundaries, her message of inclusion and love wouldn't be brought up. "With how I look and I think that's a good message for the kids too." "I'm not the traditional drag queen either," says Yuka. Yuka says she's done this in Nebraska for 3 years but has dealt with people against her mission before. ![]() Sunday afternoon, protestors stood outside of the building and disagreed with how the message is being spread.
